Create Trust & Psychological Safety In The Workplace

To truly create inclusive environments, we must recognize the impact of people’s lived experience. This requires that organizations create psychologically safe trauma responsive environments for sustainability & long term success of the whole.

Do Your Employees Feel Seen, Heard, Respected, Valued, & Welcomed?

People think that words like “psychological safety in the workplace” and “emotional intelligence” are just buzz words, but when you have people leading with unawareness, it can amplify stress and unconscious trauma, resulting in people communicating out of reaction rather than empowered response. Furthermore, when people lack emotional flexibility, and communication skills, daily interactions can become harmful to leaders, employees, staff, and the people you serve. Ultimately, when psychological safety is not present people armor up, disengage, disconnect, and eventually leave, and it’s the entire organization pays the price.

Utilizing Neuroscience & Emotional Intelligence as a Tool for Psychological Safety

Our trainings work because we utilize neuroscience based communication and emotional intelligence as our foundation for teaching. Not only does Dr. Clairborne and her team model the tools and principles, she teaches them through practical vignettes, interactive discussion, and facilitated exercises to deepen the learning. Her trauma-informed approach to leading make even the most sensitive topics palatable to diverse audiences. When we understand the underpinnings of why we do the things we do, we can interrupt harmful processes that drive people to leave.

I had the pleasure to learn about trauma-informed communication from Dr. Maiysha through a series of modules delivered via zoom through, Yale University. Dr. Maiysha found ways to be engaging, informative, and relatable despite an entirely virtual format. I especially appreciated her commitment to science-based learning and willingness to share examples from her personal experiences, which helped demonstrate her tools in action. I have participated in several other professional learning opportunities related to communication and Dr. Maiysha’s trainings have been the best by far. Since completing the modules, I have been able to take important mindset tools about listening, belief systems, and difficult conversations and apply them in both work and personal settings.
