How Can NLP Benefit Me?
How Can NLP Benefit Me?
The benefits of training in NLP are a wide variety, including improving your business skills, improving interpersonal skills and communication, and being able to design a life that you want.
NLP can help you to improve your confidence, whether it be more confidence in a team or as a leader, or even more confidence in your relationships. NLP can help you to feel like you’re more in control of every situation you’re in.
NLP can help you improve your memory recall. I recall one time I was in the car with my son ,and we were walking down the street. I was asking him a question about what he did in school that day. And he said, “Mommy, I forgot.” S I said to him, “Hey, well did you know that if you asked your brain to remember, that your brain can actually remember what you did for school today?” So he sat in the backseat and “Hmm,” and he said, “Mommy, I remember.” One of the things that NLP does is give you control of the communication between your conscious and your unconscious mind. One of the prime directives of the unconscious mind is that it stores all memories. So by knowing this, and by being able to communicate with the unconscious mind, you can actually improve your memory by learning the communication of neuro-linguistics programming.
Be a Better Educator
NLP can help you be a better educator, no matter what profession you’re in, whether you’re a physician or whether you’re a teacher, whether you’re a principal, or any other field you develop yourself in. It helps you to not only listen and look for the various learning styles of the people that you’re teaching, but it helps you to be able to engage, so others retain the information better.
It also improves your own learning capability, because you get to know yourself more intimately, know your own learning style, and then take in information according to your learning.

NLP Can Improve Your Coaching Results
If you’re a coach, NLP can deepen and expand the quality of the results with your clients. When I was in private practice with my patients, coaching was part of my practice. And one of the things that I incorporated on a daily basis was neuro-linguistics programming techniques – hypnosis as well – and what I found is that while I was already getting results, when I added the element of NLP, the results came faster and quicker. Patients who wondered what changed from when I was coaching before to after? And I told them it was that I had trained in the techniques of neuro-linguistics programming.
So, if you’re a coach, it allows you not only to be able to listen more deeply, but also respond and use a varied library of techniques to help create change. Help your clients move through internal mindset barriers, procrastination and other things that often take weeks, months, or years to break through.
Business & Sales
Entrepreneurs and salespeople report that, by knowing the principles and tools of neuro-linguistics programming, they improved their results and sales. That’s because NLP is a fundamental way of communicating in sales. When you understand the underlying language (what we call the secret language of sales), then you’re able to listen, engage, and create possibility and vision with your potential clients in a way that has them wanting to buy whatever it is that you’re offering. NLP is an amazing tool to add to your toolbox of communication to help clients move from where they are, to the decision of taking that step towards where they want to be, and purchasing your particular product or service.
Dealing w/Objections
Another way that NLP helps with sales is by dealing with objections better. What I mean is that it helps you deal with the “yeah-buts”, the “how-abouts”, and the “what-ifs” in the sales process. Now, I say in the sales process, but it also helps to deal with objections in any situation. For example: with your children, with your spouse, with coworkers, friends, etc. NLP is really great, because again, you’re listening for what’s behind the communication so that you can actually speak to that, rather than just reacting to the spoken words. You’re able to listen in a way and then craft your communication in a way that the person that you’re speaking to can hear you, process what you’re saying, and be enrolled in taking a different action.
