The R.E.M.A.P ® Awakened Leader is a four-month cohort for women in healthcare and leadership. In this small safe space community you’ll discover new voice, build real communication skills, and heal some of the patterns that have been quietly holding you back — alongside women who truly get it.
This R.E.M.A.P ® Leadership & Communication Learning experience pairs the Communication That Transforms online course with biweekly, small-group safe space community and live coaching. Whether you are in formal or informal leadership, this experience will help you:
- Deepen your understanding of how trauma could be impacting your communication and leadership
- Learn and expand new ways to navigate the challenges of leadership in your environment
- Connect and share the challenges and bright spots that you experience with like minded individuals from different similar and backgrounds
- Practice new skills in real time in a safe and intentionally curated environment
- Integrate skills into your leadership style for lasting impact
In this program, you will experience 4 months of restorative learning, coaching and connection while completing an interactive and engaging online course centered around navigating the challenging aspects of our leadership and environment using trauma informed communication. If you are a physician, nurse, or advanced practice provider you can earn up to 22 Category 1 AMA CME credits in the process.

In the Communication That Transforms Course, You Will Come To:

From Trauma Aware to Trauma Informed
We take leaders through the trauma informed communication journey, beginning with trauma awareness. In understanding trauma, and its impact on our brain, behavior and communication, one becomes more trauma sensitive. Then we move into practical tools that teach you:
- Emotional Intelligence, Psychological Safety, & Listening as an Equity Practice
- Emotional Regulation Techniques for Navigating One’s Own Trauma Activations
- Practical Communication Tools for Navigating Resistance and Challenging Communication
- Tips for Integrating Trauma Informed Tools into Your Organization, Relationships, & Life
Learner Objectives:
- Define Trauma, recognize it’s impact on our thinking, communication and behavior, and identify the relationship between trauma, stress, and the window of tolerance.
- Define psychological safety, what creates or destroys it, and recognize how psychological safety impacts health equity, patient trust, employee well-being, workforce stability, and the provision of culturally appropriate care.
- Identify the trauma informed journey, and utilize trauma informed listening and speaking to cultivate rapport, trust, and psychological safety with patients and interprofessional between colleagues and leaders.
- Identify practical and applicable next steps for creating a plan and accountability structures for ongoing training and development in order to bring psychological safety and trauma responsiveness to leaders, providers, employees and staff.

- The course is delivered through online platform
- Instructions: In order to obtain credit, each participant is expected to complete the online material in its entirety and complete a quiz at the end of the course with a minimum 80% passing grade. Participants will then evaluate the course and claim credit. The course is expected to take 12 hours to complete.
